Dressing for Work in the Middle of Summer

When the heat is blazing, one of the hardest thing can be getting dressed for work. Trying to balance comfort and appropriateness can prove to be quite a challenge, especially when going from the sunny outdoors to chilly air-conditioned offices and/or conservative dress codes. Fear not! We have a few ideas for your to help you navigate work-wear when all you want to do is throw on a bikini!

Option 1:

For the more buttoned up office, here's a play on a traditional look. You've got your classic high waisted pants, these ones are by Teenflo. Paired with a summer staple crop top, this one's knit from Zara ($25), you get the ease of layering but with minimal fabric to tuck. Since air conditioning is very much a thing in offices, sometimes the sleeveless pieces just don't quite cut it. For that we added in this H&M blazer is a super lightweight fabric to give you the tailoring that you need in the office.

Throw on a Stella McCartney belt and a pop of complimentary colour in the bag (Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAB, $125) and you can call it a day! Kelsey Dagger Wedges (size 9, $45) finish off the looks and let the tootsies breathe a little!

Option 2:

This option gives you  a bit more of that boho 'je ne sais quoi' while still remaining polished. Think of this one like you're channeling all your festival wardrobe energy but making it WERK for work. Easy breezy layers like this Joie silk top and WIlfred Midi length printed skirt pair pretty perfectly if we do say so ourselves. Classics came in the form of shoes and bag.

A good low stacked heel is an office staple and these Kate Spade beauties (size 8.5, $125) hit it out of the park. We're also not too sure if there was ever a better work bag before this 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collab. Documents, laptop, snacks, it'll fit them all! Once again, to combat the air conditioning we threw in this creamy and dreamy Boy. Band of Outsiders cropped sleeve jacket for good measure.

Easy as that! Just remember it's all in the fabric. Little jackets are great because they give instant office-ification and if you get one in a linen or cotton, they can be tucked away in a bag for a super transitional day to evening look!

Wishing you all a happy summer! Don't forget to check out our Summer Lovin' collection for even more pieces to mix into your Summer work wardrobe!
