Stylust: Pretty Party Looks For The Holidays

By Lindsey, Stylust, December 3 2014

During the holiday season, you’ll find yourself getting busier and busier as the season progresses. At these times it might be that what you are going to wear to each event or party is the last thing you want to be spending tons of time (or money) on. We teamed up with Mine and Yours and blogger Jasmine Zhu of Posing in Vintage to bring you some pretty party looks for all your holiday gatherings. From corporate office parties to black tie affairs we have styled looks that cater to all styles and price points so what you are going to wear to your next event won’t be something you need to “figure out”.

OFFICE PARTY

Office dress codes can be such a drag and can sometimes stunt your creativity when it comes to getting dressed but this Michael Kors sequin top paired with a bright flirty skirt is the ultimate happy medium. The skirt is just long enough to pass the bar and the classic t-shirt cut of the top keeps it elegant and boardroom appropriate. Accessories and toppers will be your best weapon here, so feel free to experiment with fun shapes, cuts, and textures. Complete the look with a winged eyeliner and a classic red lip.

CASUAL DINNER

From laid back family dinners to weekend brunch with friends it can get quite monotonous when you are reaching for your favourite boyfriend jeans and t-shirt for every

invitation. Keep the easy-going vibe going strong with a cozy knit that you can get all wrapped up in and hit the leather trend head on with a pleated leather mini. Keep the accessories simple yet daring with a statement ring, bangle, and sparkly kicks.

FORMAL SOIREE

Formal events are where you can really let your most glamourous side out, and nothing says glam quite like gold does this season. Though there is always the question of what is considered too formal or not formal enough, our good friend Oscar Wilde says you can never be too dressed up and we tend to agree. However, if you are still worried you can never go wrong with a little black dress. Start simple and build on the look by layering a stunning topper and killer heels. Pull out your sexiest smokey eye, voluminous waves, and dramatic chandelier earrings and you’ll be rockin’ the night away in style.
