JCI's Annual Fashion Show Gala

This past thursday night the team here at Mine and Yours attended John Casablancas Institute Annual Fashion Show Gala! The show was produced by Graduating Fashion Class 150 and their theme this year was called “NUANCE”

What is Nuance ? The Oxford dictionary’s definition for it is: A subtle or slight degree of difference, as in meaning, feeling, or tone; a gradation.

The show executed just that, subtle style changes. The feeling of Nuance Fashion show was dark and eerie, with wood accents setting you in a woodland like atmosphere. The clothing transcended and gradually became more edgy and raw as the show presents itself.

Not only did we get to attend the fashion show, but we were also featured! The closing segment was styled by Kiera Bowyer and Zoe Stainthorpe with clothing from our store. It was great to be a part of the creation of the show and work together with the school!

Every year, JCI chooses a foundation to donate the proceeds of the show. This year's proceeds will be donated to The Looking Glass Foundation. This organization brings awareness, prevention and support for those suffering from anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders. They offer innovative programs to facilitate eating disorder prevention, early intervention, support, recovery, and sustained relapse prevention. This is a cause that is so close to home in the fashion industry and is extremely important to bring awareness to with the rise of pressures from Social Media in today's society.

It was such a great night of fashion and to see the students hard work pay off! We look forward to more fun collaborations with JCI!
